about

Cryin' For Heaven was recorded in October 2014 and was considered as a bonus track for the album Walkin' To Heaven which was recorded in January 2014 and released in February 2015.

lyrics

you're here on earth but you seem kinda lost
you sleep through the days you're not counting the cost
you do all you're told to do, working away your days
you'll do anything it seems aside from take control

you don't know where you're going or even what road you're on
your days feel empty but not as empty as your heart
you're caught in their game and you're too scared to be
you're chained to tradition, locked by your fear of reality

you're cryin' for heaven, you're cryin' for release
you're told glory's waiting but it will cost you your dreams
you're cryin' for heaven, you're cryin' for an end
the glory you seek is here on earth my friend

so you can grumble, stumble, pay your bills and moan
let society work you right down to the bone
when autumn sets and you're filled with regret
will the offer of paradise comfort tearing eyes?

hallelujah they chant, in gods glory we stand
do as we say to reach the promised land
you can be a success by following their path
or you could work it out alone and live from your heart

you're cryin' for heaven, you're cryin' for release
you're told glory's waiting but it will cost you your dreams
you're cryin' for heaven, you're cryin' for an end
the glory you seek is here on earth my friend

i know we all need comfort for the journeys kinda rough
but there's a difference between belief and the truth that you seek
no one on earth can know the reason why we're here
don't believe what they say because it masks your fear

bravery isn't going off to fight a war
it's when you fight to put an end to all the wrongs in life
and love isn't confirmed when a man owns his bride
love is pure, a connection not a prize
