i once saw the moon
shining in to my room
and as i looked outside
he saw me and caught my eye
and then he said "do you want to come and play"

then he preceded to say
"come enjoy the milkyway"
"come and see the stars"
"enjoy planets near and far"
so in a moment i headed outside

but i couldn't reach the sky
got a ladder and started to climb
soon i had passed the sky
amongst the stars of the night
all of them were shining so brightly like a dream

then i reached the moon
landed on his cosmic sand
and as i looked around
from this untouched ground
what a sight the galaxy is on this night tonight

then he said to me
"you can jump from me to mars"
"explore the universe"
"dance amongst the stars"
so with a hope and a jump i rode the universe

as i danced around
to colours of cosmic sound
passing every planet by
waving to ships in the sky
this is the kind of night you can only dream

but soon it was time to go
as the sun began to show
so i said goodbye
to the moon who was smiling bright
i climbed down my ladder and i bid him good-day

now when i see the stars
i see them smile to me
i remember fondly the night
i danced in their starlight
i hope that soon i can dance with them again
