i lay 'neath the clouds on a calm spring day
wanting to leave a world that has nothing for me
i think about crossing the bridge and seeing if the stories are true
take a step into a world unknown, test the faith deep in my bones
and take a step into magicland

i could be a prince there or so i have read
risk the wizards spell, prove my love to the girl
i could find a new world inside, deal with devil and saint
all i know is this world i'm isn't where kindness lies
life looks better in magicland

there are places to go, hells gate and the clouds above, in the ice palace lies a tired wise-mans soul
so many dangers but each worth the risk, ghosts on a river defending a witch
it's all across the boarder, not far from where i lay
diamonds are a bonus to an adventurer's grave
when i'm buried, bury me in magicland

the spell was bound to strike as my kingdom fell, i don't miss the chance to explore this different world
we're all told stories of a different time and place, the harp is playing a man is at peace
a heart so pure with a quest so inspired
saving love is like bottling time
so let me waste the hours in magicland

i've done wandering through this developed world, think i'll step back in time to where real friends lie
i'll be leaving soon, i have no time for goodbyes, pipes from a piper draw me ever near
across rivers and waterfalls death i will face
i can pay him off, every fool wants the gold
i'm never coming back from magicland

i look forward to adventure in this new kingdom where i dwell, in enchanted forests i'll meet dragons and trolls
i've heard tales of pirates visiting the land, seeking treasure from the castle in the sky
all myths and legends of times gone by
come from this place that i know call my home
i'm living in a fairytale in magicland
